This restaurant comprises a Canadian, Mexican, and Spanish-influenced cuisine. The breakfast menu includes many great options, such as omelets, French toast, and eggs benedict. El Toro is open for breakfast from 7am-11am, seven days per week. For other great options, please see our complete list of recommendations!
Housekeeping, Toiletries, and Bedding:
If you do not wish to have the housekeepers service your room, please hang one of our “Do Not Disturb” signs on your door handle or notify the Front Desk. Towels left folded, unused, or hanging from the racks will not be changed until the room is checked out. As our hotel is an environmentally friendly establishment, please carefully consider whether your towels truly need changing. Additional toiletries or bedding can be requested with the Front Desk staff and will be supplied free of charge.
Coffee, Tea, and Microwave Ovens:
In addition to the complimentary tea and coffee available in the lobby, we provide complimentary coffee supplies in our guestrooms. Tea Kettles are available upon request from the Front Desk. Additional tea bags, coffee packets (including a decaffeinated variety), sweeteners, cream, etc. can be requested from the Front Desk staff. Those looking to make tea can also use the coffee pot to warm up water. Similarly, if your room does not include a microwave, you can request one at the Front Desk.
Pool, Sauna, and Hot Tubs:
The pool, sauna, and hot tubs are free for our guests’ use, and are open from 8:00am to 10:00pm. They are all found on the first floor of the hotel’s southern wing, near the Cascade Conference room.
Additional pool towels can be requested through the Front desk should the supply in the pool area be exhausted.
Wireless Internet:
The wireless internet connection is offered complimentary during your stay at the High Country Inn. Instructions for accessing our internet are provided on our key card envelopes. Your device should automatically redirect you to a browser page that lists our internet policies. At the bottom of this page is a button that says, ‘Continue to Connect to Internet’. Click that and your device will be connected to our Wi-Fi!
Laundry Services and Ironing:
A coin-operated Laundromat, which can be accessed using your room key, is in the hotel’s parkade. The washing machines require three $1.00 coins per load, and the dryers take two $1.00 coins. Laundry soap and dryer sheets are available at the Front Desk and cost $1.00 each, including taxes. Ironing boards and irons are found in all rooms.
TV Operation and Channels:
If you experience any difficulties with the TV remote, please contact the Front Desk staff. The device likely needs to be reprogrammed, which is an uncomplicated process that takes only seconds. To purchase movies through Telus TV, simply follow the prompts and enter your credit card number to pay for the movie of your choice.

Environmental Programs,
Incentives and Goals
Incentives and Goals
Clean the World:
All used soap, shampoo and conditioner bottles are either recycled by Clean the World, or if they’re barely used, they get sorted and shipped overseas to those less fortunate. This program takes our staff a lot of extra time to sort the bottles, but we feel it is well worth it! We estimate it keeps roughly 75,000 single use plastics out of landfills each year and blesses those less fortunate.
Executive Mat Service:
Executive Mat Service supplies our lobby and public area mats. They also assist us in taking various types of recycling, which then gets made into bio pellets to heat their water for cleaning. Our housekeeping team prides itself in sorting through recycling, so that we can participate in this great program.
Boiler replacement project in 2018:
Our new boiler is 98 percent efficient in retaining the heat it creates.
Staff Recycling Program:
At the end of each housekeeping shift, our staff sort through the various types of recycling they find in the rooms. We sort it into five different bins, which ensures it’s repurposed in the most effective way. This includes one use plastics, mixed paper, bottles/cans, glass and cardboard or boxboard. We feel this extra allotted time is worth the effort.
